Frequently asked questions

How long will it be before my shutters are installed

Typically 12 weeks from the date of placing your order

How deep does my recess need to be for blinds?

Depending on the blind type you want there are minimum and optimal sizes ranging from 5cm (1 inch) to 10cm (4 inch)

Does the size of my recess effect my blind options?

Yes, given that you have a shallow recess (less than 5cm or 2 inch) then you would be limited to Rollers, pleated and cellular blinds as they require the least amount of depth. On the flip side of this however a recess that exceeds 10cm or 4 inches would be optimal for all blind types.

what blinds work in a bay window?

There aren’t many restrictions on the type of blinds, curtains and shutters that can be placed in a bay window. It mostly depends on the recess depth making you aware of what blind types will and wont fit the bay as well as functionality and compatibility, ensuring that the blinds operate correctly and allows for easy access.

What does top/face fix mean?

When choosing how you would like your blind installed you may have the option of face or top fixtures, a top fixed blind also known as a inside mount is attached to the ceiling providing a sleek, integrated finish and is usually the better option for blocking out light. A face fixed blind is fixed to the wall above the window frame or to the window frame itself. This type of fix is ideal for windows with little to no recess space or a recess too narrow for the blind to fit as well as being a flexible alternative as it can bypass window handles and other obstructions.
